PE against Naidu filed

 

The CBI on Saturday registered a preliminary enquiry, 7/2011, against former CM and Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and 12 others.
CBI officials said the PE case was booked based on the orders of the AP High Court on a petition filed by Y.S. Vijayalakshmi, wife of late YSR. The court had ordered a multi-pronged inquiry by the CBI, Enforcement Directorate and the police into the assets of Mr Naidu, his family and their top aides. The CBI has also booked the PE against Mr Naidu’s wife N. Bhuvaneswari, son N. Lokesh, Ch Ramoji Rao, Ushodaya Enterprises, and Heritage Foods India Limited represented by Ms Bhuvaneswari.
Others against whom the PE was filed are Aho-bila Rao (alias Billy Rao of IMG Bharata), V. Naga-raja Naidu, a relative of the former CM and TD MP Y. Satynarayana Cho-wdhary alias Sujana Chowdhary.
CBI to issue notice to all named in PE
Film actor Murali Mohan, Madhucon Sugar and Power Industries MD and TD MP Nama Nageswara Rao, K.V. Rao of Kakinda Seaports, C.M. Ramesh of Rithwik group of companies are the others on whose names the CBI registered the PE. CBI officials will begin issuing notices to those named in the PE and record their statements, apart from recording statements of witnesses. Sources said that CBI is preparing the notices. The agency will form a multidisciplinary investigation team comprising chartered accountants, income-tax officials and CBI investigators to probe into the case.
