Speaker to let 4 MLAs to resign
The Assembly Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, is most likely to announce his decision on all the pending resignations submitted by more than 70 members on November 29. Sources disclosed that the Speaker is likely to accept the resignations of former minister Jupally Krishnarao (Kolhapur), Dr S. Rajaiah (Station Ghanpur) of Congress, Jogi Ramanna (Adilabad) and Gampa Govardhan (Kamareddy) of the TD, all belonging to the Telangana region.
Sources said the Speaker had no other go but to accept the resignations since all the four rebel MLAs were not only insisting that their resignations are accepted, but also continuously participating in the activities of the TRS by formally joining the party. All the other resignations, like those submitted by Mr Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Mr Chirumarthi Lingaiah (Congress), 25 Congress MLAs who openly expressed their loyalty to Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and later requested the Speaker not to accept the resignations, and those of 32 TD MLAs, and 11 TRS MLAs from Telangana will be rejected.
The reason for rejection is that the MLAs during their one-on-one meetings with the Speaker did not insist on acceptance of their resignations and claimed to have submitted their resignations under pressure from Telangana people and YSR Congress party leaders.
