Srilakshmi arrest shocks IAS fraternity
The suspension of senior IAS officer Y. Srilakshmi is imminent with the CBI Special Court remanding her for custody. On Tuesday, the CBI informed the state government of the arrest of the bureaucrat in the OMC case. Meanwhile, Ms Srilakshmi’s arrest shocked the IAS fraternity. This incident, they feel, erased the myth that the bureaucrats are insulated from punitive action as severe as arrest and clamping of criminal charges. “A section of the media is trying and delivering judgements against Srilakshmi,” said a woman officer, adding, it is for CBI to investigate and court to punish.
