CBI collects sale deeds, tax returns of Naidu
As part of the probe into the assets of Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, his wife N. Bhuvaneswari and son N. Lokesh and other accused, the CBI has been collecting copies of sale deeds from sub-registrar’s offices in various places and also tax returns filed by them from the income-tax department. CBI joint director V.V. Lakshminarayana said, “We are studying the documents. After analysing them we will issue notices.” He added that no notices had been served in Mr Naidu’s case. Sources said that CBI teams were collecting particulars of sale deeds of Mr Naidu’s and other respondents’ properties from Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nellore, Bengaluru and Mumbai. It has been alleged that the value of Mr Naidu’s assets has risen to Rs 12.33 crore in 10 years, that of his wife to Rs 56.33 crore and son to Rs 5 crore.
